Qnergy has developed a 21st century micro power plant for homes and commercial buildings that produces combined Heat and Electric Power (CHP). The combined heat and power system (CHP) leverages the dual electric and thermal outputs of this unique engine.
Qnergy's Micro-CHP System achieves 95% efficiency by utilizing a state-of-the-art Stirling engine, a highly efficient combustion process, and the industry's leading water heating technology.
Qnergy's Micro-CHP system is shown in the video to the right. The system can run on any/all fuels, such as, Bio-Gas (methane) produced from an anaerobic bio digester, Bio Synthetic Gases from wood, chips and saw dust, natural gas, propane and even Solar thermal.
The heat generated from the combustion of gases is extracted and sent to a buffer tank through a heat ex-changer. This tank acts as heat storage and thus can be used for space heat, domestic hot water, heating a swimming pool, hot tub or any other commercial type application.
During this heating cycle, Qnergy's Stirling engine is also generating electric power which is consumed on site or sent to the utility for credit.
This system is fully modular and scale-able, thus, can be sized for residential, commercial and industrial applications.
The system can be used for the purpose of Heat Recovery to create electrical Power from otherwise wasted heat processes, such as, Data Centers, Blast Furnaces, Concrete and Asphalt plants, Sugar and other Ag Processing Plants, Breweries, basically any source that produces heat can now be recovered and efficiently converted into Electrical Power.
